 Dax requested a B'elanna/Neelix story with the first line 'She met pain at a young age.' No romance.

This is not the pairing that I normally write but I loved it. I recdeived my assignment and within two hours I had this written. This is an unbetad work so I apologize ahead of time for any errors or miscalculations that are within the story.

Edward seeks his mother's advice on a career move

This is the 14th story in the Family series  

Voyager is back in orbit of earth and, for Chakotay, everything is perfect. However, his happiness does not last as he is summoned to sickbay to discover that his Captain has died...and it's his fault.

Summary:  B’Elanna hoped like hell, Chakotay knew what he was doing. Because if he didn’t, then he’d just likely murdered the only woman he had ever truly loved.
