Thanks for your review! At one point I was intending to write a sequel, but I'm not sure when and if that will happen. RL has pretty much precluded writing anything for a while - certainly nothing long. I was hoping the story would stand alone. I wanted to leave Kathryn with a renewed sense of purpose and a future to look forward to. The way I wrote/saw Kathryn, as long as there's nothing to do, she's bored and depressed, so I had to leave something unfinished for her! Of course, I could still write a sequel and have things left for her to do at the end of that, and I may still write it at some point, but I have to admit it's probably not going to happen soon. I have another long story I haven't even finished yet (Kiss of the Spider People, on ffnet) and I was kind of stuck on it when RL got in the way and now I don't even remember what I was thinking of as possibilities for how to continue! I think I have to finish KOTSP before I write a sequel to KID.
However - if you're impatient, I invite you (or anyone else who so desires) to write a sequel to KID. I'd definitely read it even though I don't have time to write it!
